Enjoy the Salley Garden

Hello guys, happy Friday! If you are a long time reader, you must know that I love Fridays. Happy times needs some music to add some more color. Right now, I am enjoying a very tender and beautiful song named sally garden.

Maybe I am a slow man so l like slow rhythm and slow songs. Actually I have shared two pieces of work of Don Mclean. And it seems that they are very popular. Many kind people vote like for it. So this time, I hope you can also enjoy this beautiful song.

It lyrics were written by William Butler Yealts who is a great irish poet. It says that the lyrics were based on the real life experience of the poet. Yealts turned it to a beautiful song with his simply yet peace language. May you enjoy it, and the enjoy the coming weekend!

        Down by the Salley Gardens

My love and I did meet

  She passed the Salley Gardens

  With little snow-white feet

She bid me take love easy

As the leaves grow on the tree

But I being young and foolish

        With her did not agree

In a field by the river

My love and I did stand

  And on my leaning shoulder

  She laid her snow-white hand

She bid me take life easy

As the grass grows on the weirs

But I was young and foolish

And now am full of tears

      Down by the Salley Gardens

My love and I did meet

  She passed the Salley Gardens

  With little snow-white feet

She bid me take love easy

As the leaves grow on the tree

But I being young and foolish

  With her did not agree

But I was young and foolish

And now am full of tears

The bubble cars on Chiang Mai Street

Thailand is a popular travel county. Every year there are lots of people come to visit the beautiful country. And among them, the capital Bangko and the city Chiang Mai gains the most tourist.

When I surf the internet today, I found an interesting and fun post on a friend’s sina blog. And yes, you got right, it is about Chiang Mai. To be specifically, it is about the bubble car in the Chiang Mai street!

Not all the city fits the bubble car. Some cities like Shenzhen which is in fast tempo and monotonous will not match it. However, Chiang Mai boasts a kind of carefree and relaxing. It is not too busy nor too backward. This kind of temperament is just fitted with Chiang Mai.

It can be spotted that there are lots of bubble car on the Chiang Mai street. You can come across them now and again. Besides, the tradition black ones, the times saw a pop out of pastel colors, like pink, yellow and green and etc. The small car body combines with pastel colors makes the bubbly car a beautiful scenery in the street. If you do not believe it, follow on and see it!

A Delight Sunday at Ajisen Ramen

Hello guys, it is a new week! Let’s embrace it! How was your weekend? Mine is not bad. Hope you also spent a nice weekend. Lol.

For a majority of people, the weekend would meant to be together with loved ones, families or friends. And the one who belongs to the category. After a five day’s work, to spend some time with beloved ones would be relaxing and fun.

Among the so many activities, tasting gourmet food would make an important part. Food makes us full and happy at the same time. Last Sunday, I went to shopping with my best friend Amy and then we had a nice dinner time at Ajisen Ramen. 🙂

Ramen is a very popular type of Japanese noodles. Although ramen is a relative newcomer to Japanese cuisine, it was reportedly eaten in the late 17th century, but it was only during the Meiji period that the dish became widely known.

Orginating from Kyushu Japan, Ajisen Ramen is famous for its white broth, made from the slow-cooking of tender pork ribs. I am a spicy food like, so I ordered the noodles with spicy favor, and Amy ordered rice. Also we got some snacks like eel, and ice cream. Yummy….. Always be happy as this day!!!

Starry Starry Night

Starry-Night

You must still remember the previous post about the song: And I Love You So in music category. Yes, right, it is by Don Mclean the singer- songwriters in New York. You know he really got soft voice and great talent in music. So I can not help sharing another song of him: Starry Starry Night.

Don Mclean use this song in memory of the painter Vincent. The Stary night is one of the most famous paintings of Vincent. This song is just inspired from it. Meanwhile, there is another name for it: Vincent. It can be seen that Don Mclean shows a deep respect for the great painter in his own way.

The whole melody is composed by a acoustic guitar. However it has a simple beauty in natural way. The song creates a kind of idyllic sense which shows a common ground like the previous song. If you also feel a little irritated like me at the moment, go to fetch it and listen to it silently, you will be calm. Here is the lyric of the song.

 Starry, starry night
Paint your palette blue and gray
Look out on a summer’s day
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul
Shadows on the hills
Sketch the trees and the daffodils
Catch the breeze and the winter chills
In colors on the snowy linen land

Now I understand
What you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free
They would not listen
They did not know how
Perhaps they’ll listen now

Starry, starry night
Flaming flowers that brightly blaze
Swirling clouds in violet haze
Reflect in Vincent’s eyes of china blue
Colors changing hue
Morning fields of amber grain
Weathered faces lined in pain
Are soothed beneath the artist’s loving hand

Now I understand
What you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free
They would not listen
They did not know how
Perhaps they’ll listen now

For they could not love you
But still your love was true
And when no hope was left inside
On that starry, starry night
You took your life as lovers often do
But I could have told you, Vincent
This world was never meant for one
As beautiful as you

Starry, starry night
Portraits hung in empty halls
Frameless heads on nameless walls
With eyes that watch the world and can’t forget
Like the strangers that you’ve met
The ragged men in ragged clothes
The silver thorn of bloody rose
Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow

Now I think I know
What you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free
They would not listen
They’re not listening still
Perhaps they never will

And I Love You So

It has been long time since I did not share music post with you all. Although I am not a professional music fan, and I do not have much knowledge in this field, this does not affect me to taste and enjoy music in my own way. PS, if you want to review the last post about music post, you can check here🙂

Yesterday when I was on the bus back home, I found it is so boring in the long drive back home. So I turn on my phone and listen to the radio, a tender song came to my ear. It’s name was And I Love You So. This soft song quickly relaxed my restless mind.

And I love you so
The people ask me how
How I’ve lived till now
I tell them I don’t know
I guess they understand
How lonely life has been
But life began again
The day you took my hand
And yes I know how lonely life can be
Shadows follow me
The night won’t set me free
But I don’t let the evening get me down
Now that you’re around me
And you love me too
Your thoughts are just for me
You set my spirit free
I’m happy that you do
The book at life is brief
Once the page is read
All but love is dead
This is my belief

It should be mentioned that the song was originally song by Don Mclean, and it was included in his album: American Pie: The Greatest Hits. Later many famous singer also made cover version for this song including Perry Como. It was Perry Como who brought this song to greater famous!

However, as for me, I prefer Don Mclean’s original version. His voice is soft and this song is just like a poem. Hope you can also like it and have a beautiful day.

and l love you so

The Catcher in the Rye

Hello dear friends? How was your day? Recently it was increasing hot here in Nanjing. Summer is really severe. In the city, in the office, the air-conditioner is on busy work hour after hour. There are still some people who can not enjoy the coolness bring by the air-conditioner in the hot summer days, rather they will have to work in the outside. One of the group of people is the peasant.

I found this set of photos in Lin Shengku’s blog. His photos well captured the peanut who worked in the rye. In recent years, China is experiencing an urbanization process, and the young people in the village tend to go to big cities to seek for work opportunity instead of grow crops. The old people worried: If we all do not grow crops, how can we have grain to eat? The young people answered: if only I have money, I can buy almost anything. So the young pack the bag and go to work outside, only old people and some middle-aged people left. They become the the catcher in the rye. They expect good weather for the crops and harvest season. They joy and hardships are showed together on their face.

Today I would like to share this set of the photography with you: The catcher in the rye.
